Work Overview

'Songs Without Words' are a set of three short pieces for Piano Trio, all composed in an unapologetically melodic and lyrical style. Through a range of stylistic observances and veiled quotations, they endeavor to reflect something of the lives and music of composer siblings Fanny and Felix Mendlessohn.

This piano trio is cast in three movements, which may be performed separately or as a set.
