Any avid video gamers in your household? Gran Turismo was inspired by the popular racing game – so you can expect to hear each violin zooming past the next, distance between them measured by rapid changes in volume. They might hit a red light, but a moment later these players will speed back down this chaotic musical highway! Then our instruments will play breathtaking melodies in Anne Cawrse’s Songs Without Words – a stunning homage to those adorable Mendelssohn siblings. Speaking of which, you’ll hear Fanny’s refined String Quartet in E flat among the gems of this second concert in our Chamber Players series.
