NOT for the first time, the Australian Chamber Orchestra chose to exhibit a parcel of its newer scores in a room at the Museum of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay. It should think very carefully before doing so again.

With its allies from Sydney Philharmonia's Motet Choir and the Contemporary Singers, it contributed meritoriously to a long program of always interesting and sometimes decidedly important music. But the impact of this program, thoroughly worthwhile in its conception, was muted and blurred by the deficiencies of the MCA as a site for concerts.
