Product details

From distant haze to fire and flames, Fire Dances is at once a complete suite and eight individual works responding to and reflecting upon Australian bushfires.

Commissioned through ABC Classic's Fresh Start program, Fire Dances draws on the distinct voices of composers from across Australia to create the narrative arc of this suite. When played together, the works journey through the trajectory of a bushfire, from the haze of distant fires through the whirling terror of engulfing flames to meditations on regeneration and regrowth. Committed to championing the works of Australian women, the Muses Trio give passionate and considered performances, inviting music to help us heal and grow.
