Event Details

War Letters commemorates through music, the service and sacrifice of Australian servicemen and women in the First World War during the ANZAC centenary. Four new works have been written for the project by Australian composers Larry Sitsky, Diana Blom, Elliott Gyger and Nicole Murphy. These composers, representing four generations, have taken excerpts from original letters written during times of conflict, and set the words to music for singers and ensemble. The pieces will be premiered on 7 November 2015.

Presented by Diana Blom and Halcyon, this schools concert will include performances, presentation and question time. This is a free event but bookings must be made in advance. For all bookings and enquiries contact d.blom@westernsydney.edu.au

Halcyon: Alison Morgan - soprano, Jenny Duck-Chong - mezzo-soprano, Clive Birch - bass, James Wannan - viola, Kaylie Dunstan - percussion, Jo Allan - piano
