Event Details
Starting with the first man or woman who banged on a log, musicians have been seeing colour and listeners have had sensory experiences in connection with sound. Fast forward many millions of years, and we still don’t know much about the whys and hows, but we do have a word for it: synaesthesia. MONA, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and associates continue to explore this link through performance, composition, improvisation, science, lights, lasers, food and fun. You can too—just check your preconceptions at the door.We won’t claim you’ll never be the same again. Actually, we will, because that’s what some of the punters told us last time we did this thing. Oh, and the + in Synaesthesia+ means: and other stuff about the brain and music. ‘Nuff said, now listen.
