Event Details

A celebration for St Cecilia's day of Gordon Kerry's 50th Birthday, with other Melbourne composers.

Innovative new ensemble Songmakers Australia present a novel and unconventional approach to traditional recitals through the dynamic interplay of song and chamber music.  In their second performance they celebrate St Cecilia's Day, the patron saint of music.  This program showcases Melbourne's extraordinary tradition of vocal music with and eclectic selection of songs by Humble, Grainger, Greenbaum and Heagney and Gordon Kerry's 50th birthday with a new song cycle, especially composed for Merlyn Quaife.
