Event Details
A celebration of some of Australia’s – and the world’s – finest living composers, Metropolis New Music Festival showcases the MSO’s commitment to contemporary symphonic music. In 2019, Metropolis – co-presented by MSO, Melbourne Recital Centre and Metropolis New Music Festival Education Partner, Monash University – celebrates the work of Dutch master Louis Andriessen, whose 80th birthday will be celebrated around the world.
This concert will also showcase two new works by young Australian composers, Ade Vincent - MSO’s 2018 Young Composer in Residence - and Mark Holdsworth. Vincent's piece has been co-written with the soloist of the evening, Lior.
Featured non-Australian music: Andriessen
