Ade Vincent is an award-winning composer and
performer with a diverse body of work. His style draws on
classical, pop and electronic music, with a focus on blended
genres and intricate production.
He has received numerous commissions for new music, including multiple works for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra.
In 2016, he collaborated with celebrated Australian singer/songwriter Lior and Tinalley String Quartet to compose an original composition as part of their 'From Nature to Eternity' concert series, which was performed at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Recital Centre. The work, titled 'The Hours', is a song cycle that set the poetry of Dylan Thomas and Hazel Hall to original melodies and orchestrations. The concert was awarded the 2016 Melbourne Recital Centre Contemporary Masters Award.
In 2017, he was the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's inaugural 'Young Composer in Residence' (for composers under 35). His final work composed for the position was the electro-orchestral Forever Singing Winter into Spring, in which he again collaborated with singer Lior. Together they wrote and performed the work alongside the MSO.
In 2017 he was awarded the University of Melbourne's Guitar Perspectives Composition Award, and subsequently composed and released 'A Drunken Fingerprint Across the Sky' for solo guitar. In 2019 he was awarded the Adolph Spivakovsky Scholarship.
Ade is lead singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter for indie-pop band The Tiger & Me, who are signed to ABC Music. His debut solo album - The Raven - was released in 2015, and is an art/pop song-cycle setting of Edgar Allan Poe's famous poem. He writes music for media, including commercials and video games.
He has a PhD in Composition from The University of
Melbourne.
He is published by Gaga Music and The
Australian Music Centre.
