Works by Mclntyre, Murphy, Pertout and Selleck at the ACL festival in Israel

Works by four Australian composers - Johanna Selleck, Andrián Pertout and Nicole Murphy - are included in the program of the 30th Asian Composers League (ACL) Festival and Conference in Tel Aviv, Israel, on 14-20 October 2012. Andrián Pertout's Bénédiction d'un conquérant for symphony orchestra will be performed at the Jerusalem Theatre by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Frédéric Chaslin, while Johanna Selleck's Unspoken Dialogues for flute and strings will be performed at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art by the Israel Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Guy Feder. Scott Mclntyre's work Constellationism II will feature in the first chamber concert at Tel Aviv's Hateiva Hall.

Nicole Murphy is the young composer selected to represent Australia at the Asian Composers League Young Composer Competition. Her work Untangled for flute, clarinet, percussion, piano, violin and cello will compete for a commission to be premiered during the next ACL festival.

The Asian Composers League was established in 1973. Official member countries and regions are Australia (Melbourne Composers' League), Hong Kong (Hong Kong Composers Guild), Israel (Israel Composers' League), Japan (Japan Federation of Composers), Korea, Malaysia (Malaysian Composers Collective), New Zealand (Composers Association of New Zealand), Philippines, Singapore (Composers Society of Singapore), Taiwan, Thailand (Composers Association of New Music) and Turkey (Composers Association of New Music).
