Work Overview

The title is meant as an ambivalent reference to the seven deadly sins: anger, covetousness, envy, gluttony, lust, pride and sloth. Wells are typically thought of as sources of water (or light) and hence, life. However, occasionally one hears of people who fall into them and sometimes die trapped within. In an analogous way, although the seven deadly sins are usually thought of as pernicious character faults, vestiges of them are potentially conducive to positively constructive behaviour.
