Work Overview
Everyone knows that 10 fingers can make a big sound on the piano. Loud, even bombastic, and certainly "grand". So I approached these pieces from the opposite direction, exploring the softer side. That said, I don't mind if the performer takes some liberties and gets a little excited with the volume. The pieces continue my fascination with the semitone and minor third intervals in both harmony and melody. I would also encourage the performer to explore and stretch elements of free time and improvisation.
