Work Overview

Stone, Shell, Bone and Feather is an eight-movement work for guitar quartet inspired by funeral music connected to the East Perth Cemeteries in Perth, Western Australia. Each movement of the work is based on, and inspired by, ancient and/or historical funeral music that was performed at funerals in the late-18th and early-19th centuries.
