Work Overview

Variations on the Australian folksong, Moreton Bay, commissioned by luthier Matthew Bolliger for the "Bush Stradivari" (a recycled instrument project).

The original instruments made by Matthew were: a bush violin, a guitar made from fence palings, a log steel string guitar and a box bass.

Work Details

Year: 1998

Instrumentation: Flute (or violin), guitar, steel string guitar, cello (or bass).Steel string guitar may be doubled with rhythm guitar ad-lib.

Duration: 5 min.

Difficulty: Medium — Grade 7 and above

Commission note: Commissioned by Matthew Bolliger for The Bush Stradivari.
