Work Overview

Niggunim are Jewish themes and Compassion Nigun is based on traditional music and with the idea of the playing-expression of the style of the greatest 20th century violinists...

This piece was written at the Historic Gallop House in Dalkeith in Western Australia during my 2021 composer residency. This residency is part of Prelude, a national network of residencies for Australian composers, housed in historic buildings. It is a collaboration between the Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers' Trust, the National Trust of Western Australia and the National Trust of South Australia. Prelude is assisted by the Australian government through the Australia Council for the Arts and by APRA-AMCOS.
