Work Overview

An hour-long cycle of etudes for piano based on Dante's vision of Hell. Powerfully expressive gestures are imprisoned within tightly controlled structures, creating tableaux of virtuosity and damnation influenced by, among others, Liszt, Messiaen, Carter, Ligeti and Birtwistle.
