The Seasons of St Mark : for solo piano / Eve Duncan.
Library shelf no. 786.2/DUN 8 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
I find the Gospel of St Mark is awe-inspiring. It contains many clear and energetic stories that have an earthy character. John the Baptist wears belted clothing made of camel's hair. He eats locusts and wild honey. Later, his head is served upon a plate. There is a parable about mustard seeds. Jesus Christ calms a storm. The vitality and activity perhaps counterbalances the deep spirituality contained within of the Gospel.
