Mirage : for solo guitar / Richard Charlton.
Library shelf no. 787.87/CHA 43 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
A Mirage is always floating off in the distance and this little piece should have a very "free" feel. Mostly in even quavers so just try to play smoothly. There are a few "hammer-ons" - in Bars 2 & 4, then in the middle section, Bars 19 & 23.
Practice these separately at first. Bars 19 & 23 are only the RH thumb, Bars 2 & 4 are the thumb with a finger plucking a treblenote. The middle section starts at Bar 17, and the RH techique here is Thumb on the bass melody while i & m pluck mostly open strings.
Bars 25 to 28 are mostly the same as 5 to 8. Bar 28 goes back to the beginning, then jump from Bar 12 to the Coda ( bar29) Two natural harmonic chords end the work. Touch the strings at the 12th fret then at the 7th.
