Work Overview
In 1982, the ABC celebrated its 50th birthday by commissioning a number of works from Australian composers. I was delighted, therefore, to be included and asked to contribute a show-piece for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for the occassion.
My Paean, which is cast in rondo-form, was given a fine reading in the (then) recently re-furbished Sydney Town Hall by conductor Patrick Thomas in a performance which and was also televised nationally.
