Work Overview
Break Out! was written in 2000 for a university concert. At the time it was a student exercise in the exploration of string writing but looking back, I can see that I could not help but include a melody and it helped me at the beginning of my path ascertain some direction! It has since been included as a finalist piece for the 2005 Hultgren Cello Biennial in the US and performed and broadcast in Australia. It's a bit of fun contained to one A4 page.
