Product details
Red Earth, White Clay is a reflection on the collection of sounds encountered on the Northern Peninsula of Sri Lanka and the first days of work on the expedition. The foggy morning walks, shimmering behind the filter of burning plastic, soon turning into humid afternoons of surveying were framed by the distant humming of an auger, drilling for soil samples in the earth. Cowbells and the sinister flickering of mosquitos tinkle against the occasional breeze, the coast not more than ten kilometres away from our site. Underneath all of the walking, marking, watching and listening lies the stories and voices of the people of Kantarodai village and of their ancestors.
