Sheet Music: ScoreI should like to speak : for solo flute / Noemi Liba Friedman.by Noemi Liba Friedman (2021)
|
Product details
This piece explores interruption, as a metaphor for the circumventing of speech, the breaking down of relationships with another person and within oneself. It depicts the often thwarted attempts at rectifying a relationship through open communication.
In place of directly questioning the person involved, whispered presumptions, judgements and rumours swirl. Here, the recipient wishes desperately to have the opportunity to speak on their own behalf but is otherwise silenced, with no opportunity to set the record straight.
