Sheet Music: ScoreFive Mise-en-scenes for Piano. Book 2 / Richard Vella.by Richard Vella (2019)
|
Product details
These five piano solos from Book Two are based on various scenes from film and theatre productions between 1986 and 2005 for which the composer wrote the music. A mise-en-scène is a term used in film and theatre. It refers to a visual image of a situation in which all the elements in the image combine to communicate a dramatic moment. The five solos are either exact transcriptions from the original scores or arrangements to express the essence of the original scenes from the film or theatre productions. Hence the use of the term mise-en-scène, as these solos capture the musical drama of each of the original scenes. Musically, the solos explore asymmetrical phrasing and meters combined with various approaches to modal, tonal or intervallic scalar harmonies.
