Product details
The Daintree River descends on the slopes of the Great Dividing Range within the Daintree National Park in Far North Queensland.
It flows in a highly meandering course through the rainforest before flowing through the Cairns Marine Park, through thick mangrove swamps and then emptying into the Coral Sea.
This area is home to some of the most unique wildlife in the world such as the eastern water dragon, the cassowary, green tree frogs, echidnas, platypus, crocodiles and a myriad goannas, monitor lizards and geckos. The rainforest is home to ancient rare plant species such as cycads that were alive when dinosaurs roamed Gondwanna.
This piece celebrates this amazing area and pays homage to the great Rainbow Serpent of Aboriginal mythology that created it.
