Event Details
Ensemble Offspring is thrilled to announce their newest show The Surge, touring six regional and urban locations between May and August 2021! The 1990s were a riot of transformation that redefined both Australia and the world - but what are the sounds of this crucial decade? Joined by guitarists Andrew Blanch and Vladimir Gorbach, Ensemble Offspring reignite two classics from the ’90s alongside five new commissions from Jessica Wells, Felicity Wilcox and Robert Davidson reflecting on the cultural, climate and political situations Australia finds itself in today. With video by ‘Peachey & Mosig’, this will be a multi-layered feast of music, ideas, lessons from the past and – with a little luck – hope for the decade ahead.
Performers: Claire Edwardes (percussion), Jason Noble (clarinet), Sonya Lifschitz (piano), Andrew Blanch (guitar), Vladimir Gorbach (guitar) + Veronique Serret (violin), Ben Ward (double bass)
