Event Details
To celebrate Australian artists in both visual arts and music, join us for two short chamber recitals by nine talented up-and-coming young musicians from the Sydney Symphony Fellowship in the MCA exhibition MCA Collection: New Acquisitions In Context.
The Sydney Symphony Fellowship is Australia’s premier young artist ensemble, providing an opportunity for the best emerging orchestral players to be mentored by members of the Sydney Symphony in an intensive one year program, and under the guidance of Roger Benedict, the Sydney Symphony’s Principal Viola and Artistic Director of the Fellowship Program.
Performing contemporary music is an integral part of their training, in particular presenting new works by Australian composers. This program will include works by Matthew Hindson (4.00pm recital) and Andrew Ford (3.00pm recital).
Featured non-Australian music: Ligeti, Gruber (3.00pm); Barber, Kagel (4.00pm)
