Event Details

Join the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) as they continue their year-long exploration on the music of Claude Debussy. Led by pianist and French music expert Roy Howat, this concert features the final composition as part of Lyle Chan's project to complete the last three sonatas of Debussy's Six Sonatas for various instruments:

"My sonatas are not based on Debussy's style(s) but are an extension of his aesthetic." says Chan.

"They deal with the same issues such as transformation of the past, the use of obsolete forms made new, the overt and covert use of quotation, only these are versions of those musical issues 100 years later."
