Speak Percussion (Eugene Ughetti / Matthias Schack-Arnott / Leah Scholes) at Berliner Festspiele, with Thomas Meadowcroft as guest artist.
In hardly any other percussion formation does the sonic diversity of percussive art become as clear-cut as in Melbourne-based Australian ensemble Speak Percussion. The ensemble’s activities span a wide variety of contexts and genres ranging from regular music festival concerts to experimental hybrid-arts events. By collaborating with installation artists, choreographers, instrument makers, visual artists, sound engineers and architects, the ensemble’s musicians are continuously discovering further percussive possibilities and entering new territories. In particular, Speak Percussion fosters close contact with a young generation of musicians and composers.

Die klangliche Vielfalt und Diversität perkussiver Kunst wird bei kaum einer anderen Schlagwerkformation so deutlich wie bei dem australischen Ensemble Speak Percussion aus Melbourne. Die Aktivitäten des Ensembles reichen von zahlreichen Interpretationen von Schlagwerkmusik auf den Bühnen verschiedener Musikfestivals bis hin zur Teilnahme an hybriden Kunst-Events. In Kollaborationen mit Installationskünstlern, Choreografen, Instrumentenbauern, Bildenden Künstlern, Klangingenieuren und Architekten entdecken die Musiker des Ensembles stetig weitere musikalische Möglichkeiten des Schlagwerks und betreten neue Territorien. Insbesondere eine junge Generation von Musikern und Komponisten ist dem Ensemble eng verbunden.
