Event Details

Critically acclaimed new music innovators, Soundstream Collective, delivers an emotionally charged concert of Australian works that explores the many faces of grief caused by war, and the suppression and silence that follow. A richly textured offering that includes the Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus, a string quartet, multimedia displays and even a video score, Silence Augmenteth Grief… will showcase works, including two world premieres, by renowned composers Liza Lim, Jon Rose, Stuart Greenbaum and emerging talent Daniel Portelli, with Vienna-based conductor Warwick Stengaards at the helm. From the tragedy of the Picnic at Broken Hill, to the notion of foundlings, the suffering in detention centres, and the hope and healing inspired by the 13th century Sufi mystic Rumi, Silence Augmenteth Grief… reflects on grief in a hopeful step towards solace and peace in the year of the ANZAC Centenary. Bookings essential.

Performers: Soundstream Collective, Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus, Warwick Stengaards (Conductor)
