The Star Chorale presents a musical reflection on life in modern-day Victoria - growing up in Melbourne, surviving the Black Saturday bushfires, inspiration from the inimitable Michael Leunig, an homage to the ANZACs. The programme has a strong Victorian community connection and features traditional & contemporary folk song arrangements, original Australian compositions & songs set to Australian poetry - including the following works: "A Place by the River" by Eddie Perfect & Kate Sadler "Out of the Ashes" by Fay White with the bushfire-affected community of Halls Gap, Ben van Tienen's "Across the Dark" suite, to lyrics by Michael Leunig, "Let it go" by Suzann Frisk in the Dandenongs, lyrics by Michael Leunig. Plus an energetic, contemporary setting of "Waltzing Matilda".
