Event Details
Seraphim Trio and Christopher Moore perform a stunning program of piano quartet repertoire in the Utzon Room.
Dean's new work Imaginary Ballet: Dances and Interludes for Piano and String Trio is resplendid with energy and brightness - the ultimate antidote to pandemic fatigue. The work is made up of nine interconnected short movements that are often open, light and bouncing, punctured by shade and depth. A short elegy featured in the middle of the work was written in memory of Dean's esteemed friend and ex-teacher, John Curro, the founding father of the Queensland Youth Orchestra. Alongside piano quartet works by Hungarian-Croatian composer Dora Pejačević and Mozart, this program performed by the Seraphim Trio with Christopher Moore will shine with beauty and charm.
Be inspired by this special meeting of Australia's finest chamber musicians in a program featuring new work by Brett Dean.
