Water – sometimes peaceful, sometimes turbulent, always captivating.

You will experience all of this as Queensland Symphony Orchestra transports you into the world of water – a small trickle that transforms into a flowing river, a royal barge gliding down the Thames, the frozen expanses of Antarctica, and of course, the one and only Beautiful Blue Danube.

Join us for a memorable concert as our musicians conjure up all these images and more.

Program includes:

Smetana The Moldau from Ma vlast
Handel Water Music Suite No.1
8. Bourre
9. Hornpipe
Westlake Excerpts from Antarctica: Suite for Orchestra and Guitar
1. The Last Place on Earth

No.27 Dance of the Cygnets
No.28 Odette Offended
No.29 Finale

‘What always compels me about Queensland Symphony Orchestra is the sheer physicality of the players: countless bow arching, the honeyed cry of French horns and the answering staccato of flutes. Besides a technical prowess, it highlights a passion for the music – and for sharing it.’ West End Magazine

Featured non-Australian music: Strauss Jr., Tchaikovsky, Britten
