MUSIC IS AN ART FORM THAT REMAINS A FUNDAMENTAL ASPECT OF OUR LIFESTYLE

Join QMF for a series of intimate twilight concerts in the State Library of Queensland’s unique Red Box venue, showcasing brand new classical music from renowned Australian and international composers, and performances by some of Brisbane’s finest musicians and rising stars.

Award-winning cellist Patrick Murphy has drawn inspiration on the theme ‘lifestyle’ and curated a repertoire that celebrates time-defying works by classical luminaries such as Giacomo Puccini, Georg F. Handel, Fritz Kreisler, Adrian Willaert, Igor Stravinsky and Colin Brumby – reflecting on how day-to-day life has evolved and what it means to create meaningful lives in a rapidly changing and increasingly global community.

These three evenings of stunning music will be performed by the University of Queensland (UQ) Chamber Singers, string soloists hand-picked from the UQ School of Music, the UQ Pulse Chamber Orchestra and musicians from the 2018 Tinalley String Quartet Winter School.

Settle in and be transported on a musical  journey spanning seven centuries, set against the backdrop of our beautiful Brisbane city. Limited tickets available.
