‘Then dearest child mournest thou only for Jupiter?
Considerest thou alone the burial of the stars?’
– On the Beach at Night, Walt Whitman
It’s the night of the winter solstice, and we’re celebrating this ancient marking of time with a special concert of darkness and light. The medieval, pagan and ritual elements of the solstice will be reborn in an incandescent modern soundworld, conducted by the astounding Anu Tali (Estonia). Enter the world anew.
