Event Details
Small can be beautiful. Alban Berg’s Four Pieces for Clarinet and Piano from 1913 are models of absolute clarity and brevity. Taking these as inspiration, Sir Maxwell Davies’ towering 1967 Hymnos, and more recent morsels, from Jorg Widmann, Peggy Polias, and Andriàn Pertout, demonstrate that ‘mini’ can be musically magnificent.
