About Yitzhak Yedid

Multiple award-winning Israeli-Australian composer and pianist Yitzhak Yedid melds the music of his Sephardic Jewish heritage with Western art music and improvisation. He’s composed for many of the world’s virtuosi, but there is simply no better or more direct way to experience Yedid’s highly expressive, eclectic and alluring style than to hear him play piano solo.

About this concert

Yitzhak Yedid’s solo piano performances draw together a vivid array of pictures, textures and colours in a way that is nothing short of cinematic. He reaches out to his listeners and touches a place deep within. Drawing from his Israeli roots, Yedid creates haunting melodies which weave their way through rich, sometimes surprising, musical tapestries. Jazz, classical and Middle Eastern motifs are juxtaposed and intertwined. There is a sense of shifting universes, a dreamlike state where one emotional landscape flows into another.
