the music box project proudly presents CUT PASTE PLAY 2024 - a new festival of music outside the usual order of things.

An extraordinary gathering for all kinds of curious listeners and creative musicians - join us for a joyful weekend packed full of ears-on performances and hands-on experiences including:

  • 12 CONCERTS - playful, collaborative and exploratory performances by an exciting lineup of creative musicians and artists from across Australia and abroad.
  • 10 INTERLUDES - interactive experiences ranging from artist talks, DIY compositions to guided sound walks around Camperdown.

These artists will join forces to form a festival orchestra and premiere a participatory work to be created by the audience throughout the festival.

Venue
Church Street Studios in Camperdown, Sydney is home to an autonomous collective of independent music, sound and screen professionals. The festival will happen in their intimate, eclectic venue space located upstairs from their music studios.

Tickets
The “Peggy Pass”, a weekend festival pass at a reduced rate, is now sold out. The pass is named after composer, music critic and staunch advocate of Australian music Peggy Glanville-Hicks.

Full weekend (Stereo Pass) and single day (Mono Pass) tickets are still available.

Passes are available in 3 self-selecting tiers: concession/hardship, general, and supporter.

Accessibility
Unfortunately, there is currently no lift access to the venue which is up one floor (22 steps). The stairs are very wide (1.5m), and have handrails on both sides. 

Acknowledgement
The music box project acknowledges the traditional custodians of the unceded land we will be playing on, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, and pay respects to their elders past, present and emerging. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through Music Australia and Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.
