Event Details
A cross-section of Australian chamber music drawn from the last 20 years and performed by an ensemble which has built its reputation as a champion of new music and newly discovered music for clarinet, cello and piano. Each work in the program has been inspired by an external stimulus; Kenneth Slessor's iconic Australian poem “Five Bells”, the death of a famous Australian jazz pianist and composer, a dark provoking obsession, a series of long distance telephone conversations and the shooting down of a plane in France during World War II. The result is music of great variety, drama, imagination and emotional impact as these Australia's composers move into the twenty first century.
