Event Details

Shining a spotlight on the wonderfully diverse and exceptional talents of  Southern Cross Soloists, this fresh, vibrant and thrilling program highlights virtuosity and artistry. Conversational interplay comes alive in duo works by Bach, Debussy and Schumann and the premiere of a new chamber version of  Australian composer Joe Chindamo’s double concerto, Sanctuary, for oboe and clarinet duo soloists. We finish the night with a cornerstone of the romantic piano concerto repertoire in Rachmaninov’s dazzlingly difficult Rhapsody on a Theme of  Paganini, which channels the devilishsoul of Paganini with astonishing feats of virtuosity, agile artistry and sweeping lyricism.
