Event Details

Blak Box: PRECARITIES is a 60 minute sonic journey curated by Daniel Browning featuring razor sharp spoken word and resonant music from First Nations artists Steven Oliver, Eric Avery, Lorna Munro, Rhyan Clapham (DOBBY) and Ancestress. It embraces the First Peoples concept of ‘deep listening’ which is based on stories silences and the spaces that lie between. Since its inception in 2018 Blak Box has lead participants on a deep listening experience touring across Naarm Gadigal and Darug land. In 2022 Blak Box heads back to The Cutaway Barangaroo from 2 – 3 September. In this world premiere First Nations artists share individual and collective experience of precarity in an electrifying sonic artwork designed to move provoke and inspire.
