Event Details

-barra is a sonic and visual journey into the heart of Yuwaalaraay Country from North Western New South Wales.  Learn how to hear the language of the land, explore the beauty of singing to land, and hear music inspired by the land.

Join First Nations artist Nardi Simpson and the innovative instrumentalists of Ensemble Offspring, in an afternoon of storytelling, music, song, and language bringing together the threads of Nardi’s diverse career. From singer-songwriter with the Stiff Gins, to story-teller, novelist, playwright, educator, choir-leader, and chamber music composer - this distinctive and memorable work is paired with still and moving imagery from Yuwaalaraay Country.
