Event Details
As part of Ensemble Offsprings week long 25th birthday activities, we present a live musical walkathon around the streets and homes of the inner west suburb of Tempe!
Spectacular music in the safe and open areas of our own musicians’ humble abodes – that’s what you can expect from Ah Tempe! This will be a special celebratory event which grants you a sneak peek into three musical homes. You can choose to join in our live walking tour in a safe group of 20 – or tune in from your home via our live Facebook stream.
House 1: Ensemble Offspring’s own Claire, Jason and Lamorna bring you a bite-sized program of Australian works, including a new duo by our 2019 Noisy Women Composer, Nicole Murphy.
House 2: Musical couple and Tempe residents, composer Tristan Coelho and harpist Emily Granger will welcome with an intriguing performance featuring harp, piano and electronics.
House 3: Dreambox Collective duo Alice Chance (a Tempe resident herself) and Chloe Chung present “Avant-Garden” – a structured improvisation exploring combinations of flutes, voice, accordion, household and garden objects – plus a small amount of un-intimidating audience participation, including a series of mini improvisations. The pair will create a playful space somewhere between a plant and a person nursery.
Please note that there is approximately 1.5km of walking required for this concert experience. The majority of audience members will be required to stand. A limited number of seats will be available for patrons who require them.
Covid-safe procedures will be carried out at each venue during and between concerts, including enforced social distancing, wiping down of all seats and touch points. Audience members are encouraged to wear a mask.
Booking in groups is recommended.
