Sarah Blasko, Tim Dargaville, William Gardiner, Chris McNulty, Thomas Meadowcroft and Ngaiire have been announced as recipients of the 2019 Prelude Composer Residencies.

AMC-represented jazz composer and vocalist Chris McNulty from Melbourne will spend her residency in Perth's Gallop House, while composer Tim Dargaville, also Melbourne-based, and the Berlin-based Thomas Meadowcroft will head for the Golden Vale homestead in Sutton Forest, the Southern Highlands of NSW - this house is a new addition to the Prelude program.

Another Gallop House resident in 2019 will be the well-known singer-songwriter Sarah Blasko, and Ngaiire - a Papua New Guinea-born, Australian-based singer-songwriter - will settle in Sydney's Peggy Glanville-Hicks house. Composer William Gardiner has been announced as the resident for Adelaide's Beaumont Cottage.

Residents are provided with sole occupancy of the houses as well as a stipend to cover living costs and travel. Prelude is open to Australian composers in all musical genres and practices, including world music, jazz, new classical/art music, pop, film and rock. Residencies can be for research and development or for the creation of new work.

Prelude is a collaboration between Bundanon Trust, Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers Trust, the National Trust of Western Australia, the National Trust of South Australia, The National Trust (NSW), The National Trusts of Australia, APRA AMCOS, the Helpmann Academy, Arts SA and the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts.
