A new e-book: Jazz by Jazz Musicians
Jazz by Jazz Musicians: School Edition is a new music education resource with BOSTES accreditation, now available through the AMC as an e-book. Jazz by Jazz Musicians features music by Warwick Alder, Gai Bryant, Sandy Evans, Craig Scott & Alister Spence.
The resource is designed for band directors looking for HSC material and for classroom use, with activities to introduce Australian jazz to students. The resource is flexible to meet the specific learning needs of students across a range of abilities. The kit includes scores and parts, suggested rehearsal techniques, audio examples and play-along tracks for students to use. Suggested voicings for piano and guitar, bass lines and drum kit patterns for the compositions are featured, along with a troubleshooting section with advice for common problems. Additional commercially released audio examples and YouTube links to jazz artists who inspired the compositions are also included.
