Instrumentation: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B flat, 2 bassoons, 4 horns in F, 2 trumpets in C, 2 tenor trombones, bass trombone, tuba, timpani, strings, unison voices (optional).

First performance: by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Combined Schools Choir — 9 May 01. Commemorative Meeting of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia, Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne, where, on 9 May, 1901, the first Parliament was opened.
