Work Overview
There is couple of things going on here. A sometimes complex textured work - using 'bush-scraped dots', suggesting the influence of the local bush of Kincumber and Avoca Beach in the texture of the work. Largely tonal, ascendant at times and rhythmic at times. Also, I had been reading much Eliot and setting some to music in other works, but then Faber knocked me back on permission to do that, so this Homage was an instrumental fall back position at the time. "Observe respectful distance" (Eliot) holds the piece in its orbit.
