Instrumentation: Solo violin (performed by Jon Rose), 3 flutes, 3 oboes (3rd doubling cor anglais), 3 clarinets in B flat (3rd doubling bass clarinet), 2 bassoons, contrabassoon, 4 horns in F, 4 trumpets in C, 2 tenor trombones, bass trombone, tuba, percussion (2 players), harp, strings.
Duration: 20 min.
Difficulty: Advanced — improvised violin part can only be played by Jon Rose (by definition)
Commission note: Commissioned by Adelaide Festival.
First performance: at Tectonics Adelaide (Grainger Studio (Sun), Queen's Theatre (Mon)) on 9 Mar 2014
