Work Overview
All of the main characteristics of a bird are to be found in this piece. Obviously some involve translation from one sense to another, for example from the visual to the aural. Colour is represented by changes in tone-colour: there are many such permutations in the first section. Flight can be heard in a quick(er) delivery of notes across the registers. An invented, not an actual, bird call will be played.
