Instrumentation: 2 oboes (1st doubling cor Anglais), 2 clarinets (1st doubling bass clarinet in B flat, 2nd doubling soprano clarinet in E flat), 2 horns in F, 2 bassoons, (conductor optional).

Title is taken from a lyric of 'Little Gidding' in T.S. Eliot's 'Four Quartets'.
