Shoalhaven nightpainters : for solo piano / Linda Kouvaras.
Library shelf no. 786.2/KOU 4 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
Shoalhaven Nightpainters is adapted from the 3rd movement of my Bundanon Piano Concerto, on which I was continuing to work in February 2001 while on a 3rd artist-in-residence position at Bundanon, the Arthur and Yvonne Boyd estate in NSW bequeathed to the nation. The title was inspired by one of the other artists, a painter, Jo Bertini, who encouraged us to join her in some bush "night painting", where we would go out very late in the night with painting and drawing materials, and draw and paint the bush without light.
The Concerto movement and the solo piano piece are dedicated to her.
— Linda Kouvaras
